FAQ:

Why are assessments required?

Mandatory pre-season evaluations are done so that we are able to create balanced teams for A and AA divisions.

By attending the District 2 evaluations, your player will be evaluated accurately along with all Little League players across Edmonton, which allows the leagues to create balanced and competitive teams across the divisions for interleague play.

These evaluations are not a competition! They are a tool used to place your player(s) on an appropriate team for their skill level of play.

We understand that the vast majority of players may not have touched a baseball in many months. Please inform your child(ren) that these evaluations are not competitive and there should be no pressure or stress associated with them. Encourage your child to just give their best effort.

Every effort will be made to place players on balanced teams to ensure fair and competitive play.

What if my player can’t make it to an evaluation?

While we strive to provide a variety of dates and times to accommodate family schedules, we realize that you may still not be able to attend an assessment time.

If you can’t attend a pre-season evaluation, your player:

  • Will NOT be eligible for a AA division
  • Will NOT be eligible to play up a division (if you had indicated this during registration)
  • May not be placed on a team suitable for their level of play

Please CONTACT US if you are unable to attend a district evaluation.
